Our Institute is located in the "Ochota"
Campus. Two units (Neuromuscular Unit, Department of Endocrinology) are located in the nearby facilities of the Warsaw
Medical University, less than 200 meters away from the main building, whereas the Department of Neurosurgery is associated with a neurosurgical ward belonging to one of the municipal hospitals. Neurosurgery Clinical Hospital is united with Department of Neurosurgery, Bielanski Hospital.
The main seat of the Institute consists of two buildings with
medical and biochemical laboratories inside, two administrative buildings
with conference rooms and an animal house.
There are 326 employees, of whom 142 are directly involved in conducting scientific research. Their work is focused on fundamental and clinical research in
physiology and neurophysiology, neuroimmunology, neurochemistry,
neuropathology, neurology, neurosurgery, experimental transplantology,
endocrynology and cellular biology at the ultrastructural (immunocytochemical
and histochemical) level.
